… She is nothing but a true artist who never wants to show off but aims to speaking to us, something we need today more than ever. Indeed, we need a music that speaks about our time: us, our questions and feelings about truth, tenderness, depth or delicious lightness. And she is delivering that. Let’s listen …
Danielle Ribouillault, Paris
 
The artist began playing the Violin at the age of four and later on turned towards the Guitar. Her music education was at the Spezialschule für Musik in Wernigerode. She then studied Classical Guitar with Prof. Dr. Thomas Offermann and Prof. Jens Wagner at several Musikhochschulen in Berlin and Bremen and took classes at the Centro Chitarristico "Francisco Tàrrega" Pordenone/Italy with Prof. Paolo Pegoraro.
 
In addition to her Guitar studies she was a member of the internationally renowned Youth Radio Choir of Wernigerode and the international prize-winning Vocal Consort Weimar.
 
Her musical and artistic formation continued to include Masterclasses with such as Roberto Aussel, Alberto Ponce, David Russell, Hopkinson Smith, Benjamin Verdery as well as with the renowned New York Pianist Seymour Bernstein. In 1994 she was the prize-winner at the International Classical Guitar Competition in Cracow, Poland.
 
Pia Gazarek-Offermann has given concerts in several European countries, Asia and North- and South America, often in cooperation with the German Embassy and Goethe Institut. She is active as a juror and teacher at several international competitions and festivals; she was invited as "Artist in Residence" at Mount Royal University in Calgary, Canada.
 
She had been teaching at the University of Arts in Bremen (Bachelor, Master, chamber music) and worekd as artistic director for the Bremen Guitar Art Festival and Youth competition in. Today she works in freedom of mind and with creativitiy at her own "Atelier Klassische Gitarre" in Berlin specialized and focussing on Coaching for advanced and professional players, guitar teachers, performance training, extending repertoire and Masterexamination preparation.
 
In 2021 she received an award of pedagogic excellence at the competiton Pragitarra (Prag, Czech Republic).
 
In 2007 she released her solo CD "Satyagraha" on the AureaVox label (www.aureavox.de).
It has gained high international appreciation.

2013 the new Solo CD "Spanish Guitar Masterpieces" has been released. Feedbacks under - Reviews - at this web site. Look at review in the magazine "Akustik Gitarre" you can read in 3/2014!

She is D'Addario artist.  
 
2003 she received the Diploma in „Cultural Management“, Emphasis Cultural Politics and Education.
 
" ... Music for me is closely connected with painting. Musical works on which I am working, are always accompanied by several paintings. There are rhythms, colours, structures, the denseness of the material, which for me are corresponding with the music and give me the wideness I need for the inward and outward development of the created sounds. Like Kandinsky described: „ … Colours and shapes as a means of expressing inner values and spiritual states in the sence of a synaesthetic theory similar to the emotional states evoked by sounds in music …".
